Spanish lighting company Lzf recently exhibited the Armadillo lamp during Valencia Design Week From lzf: Armadillo. ORIGIN late 16th cent.: from Spanish, diminutive of armado ‘armed man.’

In the Lzf version, designed by the Luis Eslava studio, the shape and the platelets which make up it’s armour create a textured light and shadow play unique in its genre. See how this texture comes to life at night when illuminated from within creating on one hand, spectacular reflection and on the other translucence.
