In a singular enclave, L´Umbracle has been inaugurated in the landscaped arcade of the City of the Arts and the Sciences. It is a unique space with the purpose of providing a lively, cosmopolitan and contemporary venue in Valencia . For that reason 3.000 m 2 of the current garden has been transformed in an ambitious project where culture and night leisure are fused.
The creation of the designer Tomás Alía, considered one of the most influential interior designer of present times in Europe and National Prize winner of Architecture of Interiors in the year 2000, L ' Umbracle Terraza combines in a harmonious way the current architecture of the arcade of the prestigious architect Santiago Calatrava with the most ultramodern elements. Alía has played with the enjoyment of the senses across the contrasts of color, the lighting fire, the lines of the furniture of the signature Becara and the creation of five differentiated spaces. Decoration of the baths has been in charge of the company Porcelanosa. It is worth highlighting the Panton model by Vitra.

Tomás Alía's eclectic collection includes concepts from the design of spaces of leisure such as the Terraza Ananda, MOMA , the Room ¨Reina Bruja¨ and the ¨Sol y Sombra¨ of Madrid up to projects as significant as the design of the ' Contemporary Tour ' of the Great Route in the wedding of the Princes of Asturias, the new image of the shops of Victorio & Lucchino and Javier Larrainzar as well as the interior design of diverse hotel chains.

L'Umbracle Terraza will reveal, in the second phase, a room that will remain opened the whole year, dedicated to those who prefer to take their enjoyment of the environment on the dance floor. The decoration of this zone is entrusted to Janfri Design, who have been in charge of the interior design of other areas of the City of the Arts and the Sciences and of multiple spaces of leisure in the Valencian Community.
