Magis’ stand, designed for the third time by Elisa and Stefano Giovannoni, displays all its new items. From outside it appears like a big white box, while from inside it reveals itself as a coherent space arranged on two different display levels and characterised by graphics explaining the products on show.

Among this year’s news, a return to accessories: the coat stand “Tour Leaves” and the umbrella stand “Poppins” by the English duo Barber & Osgberby and some mirrors and wall clocks by Naoto Fukasawa.

Another feature of this year is the re-launch of two historic products designed by Marc Berthier for Magis, the chair “Aviva” and the table “Teatro”.

This Salone marks also the return to Magis of Marcel Wanders with three wonderful projects, the “Cyborg”, “Sparkling” and “Troy” chairs.

After many years of research and attempts, the first project by Tom Dixon for Magis (in metal mesh) comes to light.

Magis also presents “Spun”, through which Thomas Heatherwick has produced a startling twist on conventional furniture design, creating a functional chair formed from a single profile rotated through 360 degrees.

Two new entries into Magis’ team at this year’s Salone: Jaime Hayon, with his “Piña” project and Martino Gamper with “Vigna”, who have worked – together with Jerszy Seymour, with his “Flux” project - on the relaunch of metal wire.

An important part of the exhibition is devoted as usual to the Me Too Collection, which this year is enriched by a shelving system for children designed by the icon of Finnish design Oiva Toikka, to whom the Design Museum of Helsinki will dedicate this year a retrospective exhibition to celebrate his 50 year long career.

Magis will participate this year also in the FuoriSalone, where the Sparkling event will take place at Spazio Savona 57. This event has been organized in collaboration with Marcel Wanders to launch “the little star” through a very special set design.
