Madrid celebrates its first International Design Week. During seven days, the city will be the centre of multiple activities that will have the design as the protagonist and the city as the stage.
Along the week events will be taking place in the city: Casa Pasarela in IFEMA, 360 Interiorhome and the First International Contract’s Congress. In Colón Square an exhibition of objects of huge size realized by different Designers, a Diversity of activities in the Central of Design in Matadero and numerous exhibitions and programs linked to the design in the city. |

The I International Design Week within the present global crisis environment wants to turn into a revitalizing element of the economic activity for the trades and companies related with all the design sectors. This way, the week counts in its first Edition with the participation of more than 300 trades, schools and showrooms that use the design as a differentiator element in different areas as the habitat, interior, lighting, bathroom, kitchen, fashion, restoration, bookshop, galleries, museums, gourmet or night. |

Other cultural spaces linked to design also join the program with expositions, conferences and presentations: the exposition “Hipótesis urbana: Investigación sobre diseño contemporáneo”, made by the DDI State Society and the Círculo de Bellas Artes, the samples "Dominique Perrault Arquitecto" in Museo Colecciones ICO, “Alberto Corazón: Plaza Mayor y otras obras conceptuales de los años 70” in the Cultural Center Conde Duque, “El arte de volar según Candela Cort”, “Taller Missoni” and “Berhanyer, 50 años de moda española” in the Suit Museum, “Anthropofungo. Moerel vs Morilla” in the Desing Studio Marre Moerel; photographic shooting Coolkids in el Retiro or “El Papel de la Moda a través de la Historia” in El Corte Inglés, as well as different exhibitions It is exposed in Colon Square inside the activities of MADRID DISEÑO SI. in some Schools and actions in trades. |

The I International Design Week in Madrid has the support of representative institutions as the Town hall of Madrid, the State Society for the Development of the Design and the Innovation, DDI and IFEMA.
The I International Design Week of Madrid,MADRID DISEÑO SI, it is an initiative of Design IF Promoters in collaboration with DI_MAD (Designers' Association of Madrid) and The Head office of Design - Matadero Madrid.
