Once the 2010 fair ended, the Executive Committee for Yecla Furniture Fair and its manpower team commenced with their work to make this fair somewhat special on its 50th anniversary, commemorated this year. In view of all the expectation raised, we are very pleased to envisage it as we expected and greatly appreciate the especial enthusiasm shown by the visitors during the Furniture Fair and since the closing ceremony.
With the number of visitors reaching 16,000, it is obvious that the intense promotional work undertaken for this Furniture Fair has been worth the effect. Therefore, we must say that our promotional work has been immensely successful at national and international levels. In addition, this year, the Furniture Fair has offered an array of complementary activities which have also led to the increase in the number of visitors.
However, the most relevant factor is the influx of new visitors that reached 800. Amongst these visitors, we find buying groups, sales representatives, retailers, architects, decorators and suppliers. This sharp increase in the professional buyers visiting the Furniture Fair on their own accord and a lot of them came with no formal invitations sent, as usual, by the exhibitors at the Furniture Fair, but instead they were attracted by the great interest aroused in Yecla Furniture Fair as a framework of reference for the furniture trade and for setting business trends with foresight and future prospects.
The exhibitors are highly satisfied with the number of visitors during the Furniture Trade Fair. In majority of the cases, these visitors have provided business contacts and deals, as well as agreements.
On the other hand, the Business Development Agency (INFO) has brought over delegations whose business profile fits perfectly well with the furniture businesses in Murcia; such delegations have purchasing power and, on the whole, specialise in furnishing large areas.
INFO organised a visit by foreign representatives from Germany, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Romania, Russia, Ukraine, Serbia, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Turkey, India, Argentina, Panama, Chile, Taiwan and Mexico as well as other parties attending from countries such as the UK, Algeria, Brazil, Cyprus, Peru and Columbia.
With respect to the national territory, we have received visitors from all over Spain, that is to say, Murcia, Alicante, Jaén, Córdoba, Valencia, Madrid, Barcelona and Toledo
The Executive Committee members for Yecla Furniture Fair have been working from and for the trade fair institution by holding regular meetings all round the year and have been trying to make the furniture fair as attractive and comfortable as possible for the exhibitors and visitors.
