MORE INFORMATION

Recently, we were delighted to hold the presentation of the 50th anniversary of Yecla Furniture Fair, at which we had the honour to receive Mr. Salvador Marín, the Regional Minister of Universities, Companies and Research and the Mayor of Yecla and the President of the Fair’s Executive Committee Mr. Juan Miguel Benedito.

At this edition, to be held from 8th March to 12th March, we have opted for an important international thrust to promote furniture industry, which will bring foreign visitors. Such visitors with buying power and, above all, the capacity to make our furniture fair known abroad, are an ideal means to promote the furniture at Yecla Furniture Fair.  In this context, Yecla Furniture Fair has become a major showcase for the companies exhibiting their new trends and a tremendous pull to attract potential customers.

For the second year running, the Regional Ministry for Universities, Companies and Research through the Regional Business Development Agency (INF) has organised visits by the foreign delegation representatives to Yecla Furniture Fair to promote the international sector as part of its Foreign Trade Development Plan. The Business Development Agency (INFO) is responsible for organising and coordinating such visits, hence providing all the necessary information available to the visitors on the Yecla Furniture Fair and the products exhibited at the Fair.

Thanks to the ongoing efforts made by the Regional Ministry for Universities, Companies and Research, the Regional Business Development Agency (INF), the Chamber of Commerce and the businessmen from the furniture trade, we are delighted to have over 500 hundred international professionals from the furniture sector in Germany, Holland, Czech Republic, Rumania, Russia, Ukraine, Serbia, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Turkey, India, Argentina, Panama, Chile, Taiwan and Mexico.

Amongst the exhibitors at the tradeshow this year, we find important companies from Álava, Albacete, Barcelona, Ciudad Real, Córdoba, Jaén, Madrid, Murcia, Soria, Teruel, Toledo, Valencia and Zaragoza.

Marín explained that “all the industries must innovate, venture into the international market and train experts. I am delighted to know that the occupancy rate at the tradeshow this year has been very high; as a result, we have had a long waiting list which indicates good tradeshow previsions. Therefore, we can safely say that our sector is robust and consolidated because we prides in our innovations which give us the competitive edge.”

On the other hand, Benedito points out that “there is a long-lasting trust shown by the industrialists present at Yecla Furniture Fair. The celebration of the annual Furniture Fair has not been interrupted since its creation, 50 years ago.  The companies uphold their conviction with respect to the tradeshow because its presence here has been proven to be highly beneficial.”

Amongst 130 exhibitors confirmed for this tradeshow, not only do we find furniture and upholstery manufacturers, but also manufacturers of mattresses, lighting and décor, as well as companies related to upholstery and related services for the sector.

In a similar way, and to develop and provide support for the largest number of exhibitors possible, the Business Development Agency (INFO) offers 30% subsidy on the space rented by each company at this tradeshow precinct.

Among the profile for the experts attending Yecla Furniture Fair on annual basis, we would like to highlight the presence of the representatives from wholesale companies with chain shops, importers and design studios, exporters and decorators working at national and international level.
