Anticipating the arrival of more than 10,000 professionals from the furniture industry in search of the best innovations in this sector, which will include fifty large international buyers organised by the Development Institute

The economic situation has not adversely affected the exhibitor attendance to the most important furniture exhibition in the Murcia Region and the second most prominent at a national level. The 17,000 square metres of the Yecla Furniture Fair hall, which takes place in our town between the 9th and 13th of March, have been taken up to accommodate all of the interested companies to display their products in the longest running exhibition in Spain at a time when, to save costs, companies are limiting their attendance at this type of event.

The economic situation unites businesses together and propels them to search for new markets. With this philosophy, Darwin’s “The evolution of the species”, the theme for the year, tries to stress the point that, thanks to the efforts of the business owners to adapt to new market conditions, the furniture industry will not only survive the economic situation, but, will be stronger because of it.

Within the 130 exhibitors at this event there will be, not solely furniture manufacturers and upholsterers, but also mattress products, illumination and decorative furnishings, as well as companies related to upholstery and auxiliary services within this sector.

The profile of the professionals attending the Fair this year, is one with purchasing power, especially the contract chains responsible for the furnishing of hotels, colleges, offices etc. As well as increasing the foreign delegate attendance with greater investment potential, clients focusing on quality and design, will this year come from the Ukraine, Russia, Japan, Germany, Benelux, Brazil, Chile, France, Hungary, Mexico, Panama, Qatar, Czech Republic and Slovakia.

There will also be additional foreign attendance, with many independent buyers coming to the Yecla Furniture Fair under their own initiative in order to discover quality products.

In summary, the exhibition organisers are anticipating the arrival of more than 10,000 professionals from within the furniture industry in search the most innovative products.

Referring to the international aspect of the Fair, this year, more than others, the exhibition has attracted three foreign exhibitors: two from Portugal, one from Germany. Therefore, 40% of the exhibitors attending the Fair are from outside the Murcia region.
