Hannover - Carpet Design Awards 2011: start of the competition

NEW: Competition now also open to non-exhibitors

The world's top designers of handmade carpets are to be honoured at DOMOTEX HANNOVER, the world's leading trade fair for the flooring sector. The Carpet Design Awards at DOMOTEX are a keenly anticipated highlight of the show.

Taking place from 15-18 January 2011, the next DOMOTEX marks a new departure as for the first time in its history the competition is also open to manufacturers who are not exhibitors at the trade show. Their inclusion underlines the prestigious reputation of the Carpet Design Awards as the leading arbiter of trend-setting design across the entire handmade carpets sector.

A panel of high-calibre experts will judge carpets in ten categories on the basis of key criteria, in particular quality of design, materials and crafting, as well as creativity and innovation. The three best entries selected in each category will be presented on the Carpet Design Awards stand at DOMOTEX HANNOVER 2011. During the awards ceremony on 16 January 2011 the first-place winner in each category will receive a prize of 1,000 Euros and a trophy.
