Preview on Porro presentations at next Salone del Mobile 2010
12 de Marzo de 2010
Generated from the movement of a square module in space to develop objects which are different for materials, colours and functional uses, the Modern system of units, tops and shelves return to play a key role in the presentation of Porro at the Milan Furniture Fair 2010
New configurations, together with the compositions already existing in the catalogue, will be protagonists of the layout displays both at the fair and at Porro showroom at Via Durini 15. In the first case, in an “all white” style with a Piero Lissoni mood, in the second case, playing with colours and finishes. The aim is to show the endless possibilities for developing this system, which offers the maximum liberty to create the ideal combination of elements
Bathed in milk white, Porro stand conceived by Piero Lissoni in fact chooses white, the colour of abstraction and poetic identity, to cover the forms and create a fluid, uncontaminated living environment, which is neither intrusive nor noisy: at the centre of the space, new Modern wall compositions and volumes either free-standing or on wheels, where invisible technologies are at the service of the maximum expressive possibilities, for a nomadic home that is continually adapting.
Gathered all around are new proposals, tables, bookcases, wardrobes, bedside tables, including new accessories by Swedish designers Front, who confirm their position as interpreters of the Porro style by adding a small series of accessories to the collection of units decorated Black and White and to the dotted Shadow Light lamps, in which the functions of each individual object are doubled or tripled, with flexibility as the watchword but also to surprise us a little. Pieces which take up the typical project characteristics of Porro, namely formal elegance, geometricity of forms, functionality, softening them with their visionary feminine touch: such as Mirror table, a mirror incorporating a console table which thanks to its reflective effects is transformed into a door opening up to imaginary locations, combining poetry and functionality, and Balancing Boxes, a sidetable made up of several irregularly overlapping boxes, hovering in space to challenge gravity.
Harmonious lines and relaxed poses distinguish the Jade lounge chair designed by Christophe Pillet and produced by Porro as part of the complete supply order for the rooms of the Hotel Sezz in Saint Tropez: the turquoise leather seat - the colour of holidays and sea, horizon and positivity - appears suspended over a wooden structure with cross base, only resting on four points. Rigour in project work and formal harmony together for a highly versatile piece, which can live in home, in office environments and in luxury hotels, demonstrating how the company is increasingly moving across different territories.
The presentation by Piero Lissoni on display at the showroom at Via Durini 15, on the other hand, is tinged with colours and tones of the various seasons.
The new Porro proposals are set out here in small settings created using the Modern box system, recreating snapshots of everyday life, domestic interiors with slow living and quality design as the watchwords. The effect is that of object compositions in which the sensibility of Porro for forms and a true passion for materials and finishes emerges: glass, aluminium, but above all the highest quality woods in natural finishes or else brightly painted. A vast palette of materials and colours, combining natural shades with stronger tones, where everyone can freely choose the combination that most represents their own way of living.
