This spring Formex had more visits than ever before. There were 25,559 visits in total, which is an almost 15 % increase on last spring. Formex is also continuing to attract an increasing amount of foreign interest. The number of foreign visits increased by nearly 19 %
Over four days, the Nordic interior design and gifts industry came together at Stockholm International Fairs to make their spring purchases and view the latest trends. Formex was the first fair to use the new section of Hall A, with an extra 10,000 square metres of exhibition space and the newly renovated East Entrance. Formex attracted over 780 exhibitors, of which just over 170 were new companies. The fair had a total of 25,559 visits, which is an increase of almost 15 % compared to last spring, when 22,274 visits were made.
There were also a record number of foreign visitors. This spring’s Formex attracted 1,007 people from abroad compared with 849 last spring. That’s an increase of almost 19 %. The number of visitors from all the Nordic countries increased. Mostly from Finland, with 482 people compared to 403 last spring. Norway was second with 126 visitors compared to 96 last spring. The number of visitors from Denmark was 75 compared to 48 in spring 2009.
“The figures show that Formex is consolidating its position as the most important trading centre in the Nordic region. We’ve noticed that an increasing number of visitors return to Formex year after year. Our concept exhibitions are very popular and our series of talks has grown steadily. This year there were 31 companies giving free talks. The fact that the Royal Court also chose Formex to launch “The Official Wedding Series” is also a mark of quality for the fair, and very likely helped attract more visits,” says Maria Strandberg Torén, Project Manager, Formex.
Interest from the press and media continues to grow, with the number of media representatives increasing from 714 to a record-high 885.
Formex Stockholm is held twice a year; the next fair will take place on 12-15 August, 2010.
